Great French Bread Recipe

Linda Deming’<p>s French Bread

 1 cup water

2 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon lemon juice

2 tablespoon white vinegar

2 tablespoon olive oil (you can substitute butter)

2 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

3 cup white flour

1/4 cup powdered milk

1/4 cup corn flour

2 teaspoon yeast

I did the dough in the bread machine on the dough setting. Put above ingredients into bread machine in order per your machine’s instructions. Set bread machine to dough setting. When dough is finished, remove dough from machine onto counter floured with corn flour. Knead into loaf shape- 3 inch diameter approx 12 inches long. Let rise approx 40 minutes or until double in size. Rub top lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of coarse salt along length of loaf. Put diagonal sits in top. Bake at 350′ for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with egg white. Put back in oven and continue baking at 350′ for 30 minutes. Cool on rack and serve. Great with soup, chili, stew or anything that has gravy. Also good cut into chunks for fondue
